First off, if you are reading this, just know that I am preaching right back to myself while I wait. Let’s talk about what we are supposed to be doing while we are waiting for “The One.” Who in their right mind likes to sit around waiting for “The One,” to knock on our door, carry us away on the perfect white horse? Even though I am patient, I certaintly don’t like waiting. We all know that the he probably won’t show up on a white horse and we definitely don’t have any clue when he will show up.

I know we have all been there with our friends and family listening to them preach to us that “The One” for us is going to show up when we least expect it. We have been told that we should just focus on ourselves and focus on this season of singleness so we can prepare for the day when we finally get to meet “The One.” As all of this does have truth, let’s be real, sometimes it just gets tiring and sometimes quite annoying having advice being thrown at us. It’s kind of like an “easier said than done” example. Here’s the thing, you can become tired of waiting because in this waiting season you are exactly where you are supposed to be and that is something to lift your hands up for and praise. Go ahead, lift them up. PRAISE.

So many times, we miss exactly what Jesus has for us because we are so consumed with knowing what is next or if the guy we saw in the coffee shop, grocery store, or old friend is it. Could he be it? You are probably thinking, “Hello, Jesus send me a sign.”

Psalm 20:4 May he give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

I see you girl. I see you’re either talking to Jesus and praying so hard that you will just have him show up and for you tell us if he is it. I see you sitting there wondering if those prayers on your bedside are being heard. “Is Jesus there?” “Does he really care for me to be married?” On the other hand, some of you haven’t even thought of talking to Jesus about this subject because you feel like it will just “work out.” No matter where you are at, the answers we crave may not come on our timing but we can rest and be content in knowing that HE does hear us, see us, and know the deepest part of desires and heart. While you wait, learn this new patience and peace that he has given you to trust him with.

Psalm 27:13-14 I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.

In Lamentations 3:25 it says this, God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,  to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from GodIt’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times. This season of singleness is NOT happening to you because you are less deserving. This is NOT a time for you to feel like you are not cut out for finding “The One.” When I get wrapped up in what I think is best for me, I always catch myself in a season of complaining and being bitter but then Jesus comes right back in telling me about his timing. So sisters, no matter how long you are waiting, you can lean on Jesus because he has your best interest. He’s the greatest dad in the whole world protecting you from obstacles you will never know of and opening doors for your blessings that WILL show up one day. Don’t quit. Stay with God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray continually.”

I know you have probably heard and read that verse a million times but for SO many you, you forget about one thing to pray for. Yup, you got it sister, praying for “The One.” You may not realize this, but praying for your future husband is so powerful. HE needs to be prayed for as much as you do. Can you imagine when the day comes face to face and all of the things you have prayed for are right in front of you? How incredible right? Not only does he need to be prayed for as a person, but he needs to be lifted up to his Father too because just like you, he stumbles too. Pray for his heart. Pray for his soul. Pray for his mind. Pray for his eyes. Pray for his family. Pray for his future. Pray for his intentions. Pray for HIM. The moment I realized what I was doing, I had so much to say. If you need something to start you off, start writing to HIM. I can’t imagine not writing to him. Write and pray and then watch Jesus bless the socks off of you.

This is only just a small part of what to do while you are waiting for “The One,” but these are powerful things. As you do this and talk to Jesus about him, I am praying on the other side of this screen that you my sister, recognize your worth. I pray that you see yourself in that mirror as a beautiful image of Christ. I pray you see yourself so highly like Jesus does, that you don’t allow yourself to settle on guys or anything for that matter to fulfill wants and needs that won’t last. I am praying that you recognize that you were meant to be loved and most importantly that you already are. He who finds a wife, finds what is good.

Ya hear me? You are good, even in this season of waiting.

We are on the same team. I am here for YOU.

As always,

xoxo, Kale
