St. Pete Beach Travel Guide

Hi beauties! I recently went on my first “business” trip to St. Pete Beach and cannot tell you how much it was needed. I wanted to share with you on everything we saw, ate and did while there! Vacations are so foreign to me so taking a breather was SO appreciated. Even though I grew up in Florida, I haven’t had the chance to explore it. Being able to create all while enjoying creation is my absolute favorite so heading off to this beach couldn’t of been any more perfect. Here’s to my first beach travel guide, may there be many more!

So Michelle and I got to Inn on the Beach and knew which room we were staying in and could not wait to see it in person. We stayed in the Sandpiper and was wishing that my kitchen at home was just like it! I was drooling over the old vintage style yet super clean modern feel! Just look at this, okay?

(Also, I brought bananas) haha!  The local coffee was also to die for. Then we found this book and had to take a few shots with it! As a Floridian I couldn’t get over this cover!

As I live a gluten free lifestyle and deal with hypoglycemia I know I will need to prepare food ahead of time  when going on a trip! This time I had RX bars, mixed nuts, oatmeal and some spark to keep me going without getting too much sugar in for the day. Ask anyone who knows me, I always have snacks and these are my favorite kinds!  blogger Kaley Dignen reviewing st. pete beach in a travel guide at inn on the beach blogger Kaley Dignen reviewing st. pete beach in a travel guide at inn on the beach

Also, before my pale skin got sunburned I self tanned a week before with Tan Ceuticals to coat my skin.

The Food

On the first night we went to Sea Hags Bar and Grill for dinner. My favorite thing about this place was the outdoor seating that overlooked a marina. I love being an any setting that makes me feel like I am somewhere completely different. We started off with crab stuffed mushrooms and then chowed down on our dinners. Michelle had a filet mignon and I have steamed shrimp with rice and beans.

When I was little growing up I remember siting at a table covered in newspaper and making our own crab cakes with the Maryland blue crabs that we caught earlier that morning in the water. For the few months I lived in Maryland, I chowed on many, many crabs and these crab cakes were just as good.

The second night we went to Mad Fish and I instantly fell in love with airstreams all over again. If you know me, someday I dream of having an airstream or some sort of bus that I can travel/live in and this time it was a restaurant. Uhh perfect.

The inside was decorated so well and had great service. Every dish listed on the menu was detailed and made my taste buds water each time. I had the Sea Bass with leeks, sunblush tomatoes & baby shrimp. Can you tell I love shrimp? I do.  Michelle had salmon dish with veggies and purple potatoes.
It was my first time having sea bass and if you are iffy on trying new fish, try that one. It was amazing especially with my love of veggies in the dish.

On our last night in St. Pete, before we headed back home we had dinner at The Salty Rim. First off, I knew I would love this spot because 1. outdoor seating, 2. on the water. YES.

We started out with 3 different appetizers and each one of them was new to me. I had muscles for the first time. WHAT. The chef brought them out and we dug right on in.

That’s tuna with mangos, uhh so good.
If that wasn’t enough for our bellies, our main dishes came out. I had the Chimichurri Grilled Hangar Steak served with coconut roasted yucca and sizzle sweet beans. There was nothing left on my plate. It was the best meal of my life. Michelle had the Shrimp and Grits with andouille sausage, applewood bacon and southern-style cheese grits.

Getting away to St. Pete beach was one of the best little getaways that I have had in a very long time. If you’re looking for somewhere to go in Florida, St. Pete is your best bet.

Xoxo,

Kale

Thank you to Inn on the Beach of the complimentary stay, Sea Hags Bar and Grill, Madfish, and The Salty Rim for our amazing meals. Of course, all opinions are honest and my own. Thank you!
